When you decide to go for post placement, don't miss these general rules

️⃣ at least 3 - 4 mm of endodontic filling material should remain in the apical region.
️⃣ a 1:1 ratio between the height of the crown and the root length of the post should be respected.
️⃣ the post should be extended by at least half of the length of the root supported by bone tissue.
️⃣ the surrounding walls of the canal (dentin) should be prepared minimally so as not to weaken the tooth.
️⃣ there is at least 1.5 - 2.5 mm of coronal tooth structure which is known as " ferrule effect " that is very crucial for the success of a tooth restored by a root post.
